Summary
We don’t ask for your name, email or any account. Your game progress is stored on your own device. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics so we can improve the site.
Data stored on your device
We use your browser’s local storage to save puzzle progress, timers, solved puzzles, statistics, streaks and settings (such as dark mode). This data never leaves your device unless you share a result yourself. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) to measure page views and anonymous gameplay events, such as which puzzle sizes are played, whether a puzzle was completed and whether hints were used. Google may set cookies or similar identifiers and process your IP address to provide this service. We do not send names, email addresses or other directly identifying information. Learn more in Google’s privacy policy; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, which processes standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages securely.
Children
Masyu is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
