10×10 Masyu Puzzles

10×10 is the most popular Masyu size and the size used for our Daily Masyu. Puzzles here mix quick pattern openings with a mid-game where you have to track loop ends and avoid closing small loops too early.

About 10×10 Masyu

A 10×10 Masyu grid has 100 cells. Your goal is the same at every size: draw a single closed loop through the centres of cells so that it passes through every pearl. Black pearls are corners with straight legs; white pearls are straight segments with a turn next to them. 10×10 boards are recommended for regular solvers who know the basic patterns and want a satisfying daily-sized challenge.

DifficultyPuzzlesAverage pearlsTypical time

Medium150268–15 min
Hard1502312–25 min

Fewer pearls usually means a harder puzzle: there are fewer starting points, and more of the loop has to be deduced from global rules. Times are a rough guide for an experienced solver.

Tips for 10×10 boards

  • Track the free ends of your partial lines: two ends next to each other must not join unless that would complete the whole loop.
  • A white pearl beside a line that already goes straight forces the turn onto the other side.
  • When stuck, count the exits of a region — a closed loop must cross any boundary an even number of times.
