What makes a Masyu “Easy”?
On this site, difficulty is defined by the logic a puzzle needs, not by guesswork:
- Direct deductions. Every Easy puzzle from 6×6 to 10×10 can be solved with the basic pearl rules and loop logic alone. On 12×12 and larger, a few spots may need a short what-if step.
- Extra pearls. Easy puzzles put back around half or more of the pearls our generator could have removed. Pearls cover roughly 29–44% of cells, depending on size, versus about 21–26% on Hard.
- One unique solution, verified by our solver, just like every other level.
Who are Easy puzzles for?
Complete beginners, children learning logic, and experienced solvers who want a quick, satisfying break. Start with the beginner’s guide if you’ve never played.
Tips for Easy Masyu
- Draw every corner and edge pearl first.
- Keep error highlighting on — it teaches the rules as you play.
- After each line, look at the pearls right next to it.
- Move up a size once you can finish without hints.
