Medium Masyu Puzzles
Medium puzzles strip away the spare pearls. You’ll need every direct technique, applied in long chains — but never a guess.
Masyu medium
What makes a Masyu “Medium”?
- Lean on pearls. Up to 10×10, our generator removes every pearl it can while the puzzle stays solvable by direct deductions alone.
- Fewer starting points. Pearls cover roughly 23–35% of cells, so openings are scarcer and progress comes in waves.
- Mostly direct logic. On 6×6 to 10×10 you never need a what-if — if you’re testing assumptions, there’s a direct deduction you’ve missed. On 12×12 and larger, expect the occasional short what-if step.
The Daily Masyu is a 10×10 Medium.
Techniques you’ll use most
- Black pearl techniques — especially arm locks and blocked arms.
- White pearl techniques — the far-turn rule and white pairs.
- Loop logic — dead ends and premature loops.
