Hard Masyu Puzzles
Hard puzzles keep only the pearls the logic truly needs. Expect moments where no pattern applies — and a short what-if chain is the only way forward.
Masyu hard
What makes a Masyu “Hard”?
- Requires what-if reasoning. Every Hard puzzle is checked to be unsolvable by direct deductions alone, but solvable once you allow single-step contradiction chains.
- Minimal pearls. Pearls cover only about 21–26% of cells; removing any one of them would make the puzzle need deeper logic than single-step what-ifs.
- Still no guessing. The solution is unique and can be proven, step by step.

Tips for Hard Masyu
- Finish every direct deduction before testing anything.
- Test black pearls with two options left — contradictions come quickly.
- Watch for regions with few entrances (parity).
